I went today to take photographs of the Miners Memorial. During this past week they have added the donor plaques to the memorial. It was a wonderful opportunity to get to work with the committee on this project. Every committee member was dedicated and accomplished great works. All these individuals, groups of people, businesses and corporations donated so much time and financial support to make this beautiful memorial possible. Thank you everyone for your love and support.
The following photos are the donor plaques that have been added.
$500.00 Copper donors
$1,000.00 Bronze Donors
$5,000.00, $10,000.00, $25,000.00 and $50,000.00 donors
I posted this picture so that you would be able to see the "Selfie" that I took of myself today. This plaque was put on the back of the monument and the self portrait, the grass and Christmas lights are all a reflection off of the monument.
A list of all the miners names that appear on the Miners Memorial can be seen at the Carbon County UTGenWeb webpage. I'm still in the process of adding the miners photographs but A-Q have been added.
A Miners Memorial book was published shortly before the dedication of the memorial. These books are 510 pages long and contain obituaries, newspaper articles, mine reports or death certificate information for all 1351 miners. I still have about 26 books left for sale. If you are interested in purchasing one please e-mail me. My e-mail address is: khamaker@emerytelcom.net. The cost of the book is $40.00. If it needs to be mailed to you it will cost $5.00 more for postage.
