For starters in June I got to go with two of my cousins, Teresa and Kathy, to Scottsdale, Arizona. (yes, I have a cousin named after me. Her mother loved me so much that she decided to name my cousin after me.) We haven't been together for years so it was so much fun to get to know each other again, hear the tales of woe, and get lost a couple times a day. We nearly missed the wedding we went to attend because we were busy cruising up and down the streets of Scottsdale looking for the temple. We found it though with only minutes to spare.
After being lost many times, Teresa found out how to use the GPS on her telephone and "Myrtle" never lead us astray. We were able to drive to my other cousin Chris' house without getting lost once!!!
Our return trip to Utah led us to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. It was a fun day walking along the rim and seeing the beauty of the world we live in.

(I just can't remember which shadow is which one of us.)
I think I'm on the right, Kathy is in the middle and Teresa on the left.

Our next adventure for the month of June was the balloon festival in Panguitch, Utah. A tour of Cedar Breaks, Cedar City and more balloons. It was so awesome to be able to sit within feet of these huge balloons and watch them be laid out, blown up and lifted into the sky. Many of the balloon owners allowed people to help them in exchange for a ride in the sky. Dad and I were to chicken and Carl wouldn't do it without one of us.

Fourth of July fireworks in Idaho Falls was next. It is always so much fun to visit with the grand kids and enjoy a beautiful display of fireworks. The fireworks was delayed this year because search and rescue was busy trying to find a lost person in the Snake River. The young man decided to see if he could swim from one side to the other. He didn't make it and the celebration went on without him.
The summer has been filled with many more adventures. Grandma Laura and Grandpa Weston spent the month of July in Utah. It is always fun to visit with them and family. The Family Reunion was held in Rockport this year right next to the Rockport dam. It was a fun time with lots of food and visiting with cousins.
The rest of the summer was spent painting two bedrooms, tiling the floor and the walls of a shower and then painting the downstairs bathroom. It was so good to finally finish this project. Now it is time to sit back and relax for a few more days until school starts again.
