WOW - i can't believe I did it!! Carl and I went to the Monticello Temple and to the Arches with the Young Men and Young Women this week-end. On Saturday when we woke up it was raining so I kinda thought that was the end of the fun and was tempted to head for home but decided to hang around for awhile. We still went to the Arches and went on a couple of the short hikes in the rain. Then the clouds cleared away and the rain was gone. I knew what that meant. It meant that Brenda was going to be ready to get serious about hiking. Our next stop was to hike to Delicate Arch and what a hike that it. Coreena and I brought up the end of the troops but we made it. What a beautiful site and a wonderful adventure. By the time I returned to the van from that little uphill stroll my legs where feeling like rubber but I was proud of myself for making it.
The group was still prepared to continue hiking to other arches but Carl and I had had enough. We headed for home. We hadn't made it out of the park when we received a phone call from Coreena asking us to come back and get her. She was anxious to get back to Price. Her son, Justin, was in surgery for a broken arm. He had to have a plate put in to hold it all together. Coreena was a nervous wreck all the way home.
This photo was taken Friday night at the Monticello Temple. What a wonderful opportunity to visit and have the youth perform baptisms for the dead. It is awesome to have leaders that will take the youth and do these activities with them. The temple is certainly a blessing for members in that area.
