On Monday morning Van's alarm went off at 4:30. He had a meeting at 8:30 in Salt Lake so he went into the shower and started getting ready to go. I laid awake in bed and kept debating about if I should go or not and kept making excuses why I shouldn't go. Finally, I gave up, got up and started getting ready for a trip to Salt Lake. I decided it would be a wonderful day to school clothes shop. Carl was really excited (nooooot) about being woken up at 5:20 and told to be ready by 5:30 to go to Salt Lake. He hadn't gone to bed until 1:30.
We dropped Van off at his meeting at 8:00 and headed to the nearest McDonald's for breakfast figuring none of the stores would open until 9:00. We arrived at City Creek downtown shopping complex at 9:00 and learned that none of the stores opened until 10:00. So, we walked across the street and decided to stroll around the visitors center to stall for time.
Coincidence #1:
When we finished looking around the visitor center as we were passing the side door I told Carl lets go out this door. He objected because he wanted to get a drink by the front door but I pulled him out the side door. At the same time we walked out the door two sister missionaries were passing by. Of course, they greeted us and started a conversation. After we had talked for a few minutes I asked where they were from. The first sister told us Chili and the second sister said Latvia Riga. That was pretty exciting because Cristal served her mission in the Latvia Riga mission. After talking some more and texting Cristal the sister missionary ended up with Cristal's phone number so they could talk and get acquainted. Was it just a coincidence that we happened to be the same place at the same time?
After we picked up Van at his meeting we ended up at the University Mall in Orem.
Coincidence #2:
Was it just a coincidence that we happened to be school clothes shopping on the same day that the t-shirts Carl likes was on sale for $8.00 each instead of the regular price of $19.50?
We shopped the whole mall and Carl found some shoes that he liked but we decided to go check a different store to see if we could find some cheaper ones. We didn't find any cheaper ones so we went back to the mall.
Coincidence #3:
As we turned the corner to leave the mall again we saw one of the sisters from our ward and one of her friends. I called to her to get her attention. As we talked she asked me, "Do you know who I need to talk to, to make an appointment with the bishop". I pointed to Van. She said that she had a grand-daughter getting married in a couple weeks and she had been putting off getting her temple recommend renewed because of her husbands health problems. Was it a coincidence that we were in the same place at the same time?
Coincidence #4:
The friend works with Van at the bus garage so the two of them were talking together about work. While they were talking they also covered the subject of cows. Van had sold her a cow last year and she has been calling everyone she knows to get another cow to go in her freezer so she was eager to ask Van if he had another cow to sell her. While we were standing there visiting Van sold another cow to her. Coincidence?
#1 - Did Cristal and this missionary need to meet?
#2 - Is $8.00 t-shirts one of those tithing blessings?
#3 - Was this the Lord's way of telling this sister that she needed to be to the wedding of the grand-daughter?
#4 - Is selling a cow another one of those tithing blessings?
Or are all these just coincidences?
